Cannonball Downrigger Weight 15lb

Cannonball Downrigger Weight 15lb

A heavy 15 lb cannonball downrigger weight for getting your trolling setup deep and helping maintain your presentation at fishing depth in Alaska saltwater.

Why you need this:

When you're trolling deep water or your setup calls for more weight, the 15 lb Cannonball Downrigger Weight gives you a heavier option for your downrigger.

Its traditional round cannonball profile keeps things simple. Attach it to your downrigger, send it down, and use it to help position your bait or lure at the depth you want to fish.

For Alaska anglers trolling for salmon, the 15 lb size gives you another option when a lighter cannonball isn't what you want for the depth, current, trolling speed, or equipment you're working with.

What's this good for?

• Alaska saltwater trolling
• Downrigger fishing
• Deep-water trolling
• Chinook (King) Salmon
• Coho (Silver) Salmon
• Controlling trolling depth
• Coastal and marine fishing
• Boat trolling setups

How to use?

Secure the cannonball weight to the terminal end of your downrigger cable using appropriate downrigger hardware. Attach your fishing line to the release, lower the weight to your desired depth, and troll your bait or lure through the strike zone.

Choose your downrigger weight based on your equipment, trolling speed, current, fishing depth, and conditions. We carry cannonball weights in multiple sizes so you can match the weight to your setup.

Always inspect your downrigger cable, connections, and terminal hardware before sending the weight overboard.

And maybe don't wear flip-flops around a 15 lb cannonball. Not that Alaska gives us much flip-flop weather anyway.

What can we say?

It's fifteen pounds of fishing equipment with a very straightforward career path:

Go down. Stay down. Help you fish down there.

For Alaska downrigger trolling, sometimes simple is exactly what you want.

Why we love this one:

Cannonball weights are old-school, uncomplicated downrigger gear. There aren't a bunch of moving parts or unnecessary features—the weight is there to help get your trolling presentation down into the water column.

The 15 lb version gives you a heavier choice within our cannonball lineup for anglers whose equipment and fishing conditions call for additional weight.
