A flexible, medium-duty waterproof apron built for fish processing, commercial fishing, deck work, and all the other wet, messy jobs that come with fishing in Alaska.
Cleaning salmon, processing halibut, handling bait, and working around a wet deck can make a mess in a hurry. The Guy Cotten Medium Duty Waterproof Apron gives you dependable coverage while keeping the design simple enough for everyday work.
Guy Cotten builds this apron from its Cap-Coz fabric, a tough PVC-coated material designed to stay flexible while standing up to demanding wet-work environments. The smooth exterior is also easy to clean—an important feature when your workday involves scales, slime, blood, bait, and everything else Alaska fishing can throw at you.
The apron is made from Cap-Coz fabric, which Guy Cotten describes as a strong PVC-coated fabric with a polyester jersey backing. The material is approximately 485 g/m² and is designed to remain flexible in cold conditions.
That combination makes it well suited to fishing and seafood-processing environments where waterproof protection, durability, and easy cleanup matter more than looking fancy.
Wear the apron over your regular workwear or waterproof layers whenever you need additional front-side protection from water and the mess that comes with fish handling and processing.
When the work is done, clean the apron according to Guy Cotten's care instructions and let it dry before putting it away. Like most fishing gear, it'll last a lot longer if you don't leave it crumpled in the corner of the boat until next Tuesday.
There are two kinds of Alaska anglers: those who've worn an apron while processing a pile of salmon and those who've discovered exactly why they should've.
This Guy Cotten apron keeps things straightforward. Waterproof material, useful coverage, and enough durability for real work. That's about all an apron needs to do.
It's a good middle ground for anglers and Commercial Fishermen who want more than a lightweight splash apron without jumping into unnecessarily heavy gear.
The flexible Cap-Coz construction is particularly attractive for Alaska use. Gear that protects you from wet work is good. Gear that can do it without turning into a sheet of plywood when temperatures drop is better.
